What is Horizons?
It includes a weekend retreat and year long informal mentoring for first year and transfer students of color and international students to build new friendships, to hear from upperclass students, to experience intentional intercultural interaction, and to learn about resources on campus. Retreat leaders and mentors called "Red Robins" will share their personal experiences about the blessings and challenges in their transition to campus. During the retreat, students will develop a sense of community through various ice-breakers and team-building activities. These activities will center on leadership, advancement, networking, and resource building.
This dates of the retreat are Sept 20-21, Sat-Sun and will be at Camp Canonicus
, in Exeter, Rhode Island, which is about 35 minutes from campus. All transportation, meals and housing will be provided. There is a $10 refundable fee, which is due when students arrive on campus. It is first come, first serve so we will be accepting the first 35 students who register.
