Parking and operating a motor vehicle on the Providence College campus is a privilege, not a right, and constitutes acceptance by the individual of the responsibility to ensure that his or her vehicle is neither parked nor operated in violation of any of the College regulations.
Resident parking on campus is reserved for juniors and seniors only.
The Office of Safety & Security will accepts online applications starting May 16, 2014. There are limited parking spaces available on campus. Parking space availability is not guaranteed and therefore is first come first serve basis. Applications received after August 1, 2014, will be placed on a waiting list.
- $200.00-Full academic year permits.
- $100.00-Single semester permits.
PLEASE NOTE: Application can be done from any computer and no longer requires the use of an on-campus computer.
All mandatory fields must be completed so that the application process can successfully proceed. Print and retain the voucher (final page in application process) for your records.
IMPORTANT: Permits will be mailed to your Friar mailbox, at the start of the academic school year.
Permits can only be purchased through the below link and will be mailed to your on campus Friar mailbox.
Stickers must be placed on the lower part of the driver’s side windshield. The sticker is not to be removed or transferred. A replacement sticker may be obtained for a newly purchased vehicle or a replacement windshield at the Office of Safety and Security.

From Huxley Avenue
- Raymond Lot: Enter and exit through the Huxley Avenue Control Station
From Eaton Street
- Davis Lot: Enter and exit through the Eaton Street Control Station
- Dore Hall Lot: Enter and exit through the Eaton Street Control Station
- Fennell Hall Rear Lot: Enter and exit through the Eaton Street Control Station
Parking violations are classified as major or minor infractions. Both categories carry fines ranging from $10.00 to $50.00. A vehicle immobilization or “Boot” violation is $100.00
Ticket Payments or Disputes
All fines must be paid within seven days of issue. Fines can be mailed or paid in person at the Office of Safety & Security, during the hours of 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. If you choose to dispute the violation, ticket disputes will be heard Monday through Friday, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
“Booting” / Towing
All illegally parked vehicles are subject to be “Booted” or towed. Providence College is not responsible for damage to a vehicle during towing and storage. Vehicles parked on campus or on College owned property may be “Booted” or towed at the owner’s expense when:
- Vehicle is blocking the flow of traffic, causing a hazard.
- Vehicle is parked in a handicapped zone or fire lane.
- Vehicle is in violation of RI motor laws.
- Vehicle has (4) outstanding parking infractions
- Vehicle is not authorized for campus parking
Due to inclement weather, students and faculty/staff are advised to call the weather line at 865-1012 for information regarding school closings and class cancellations. In the event of a snow emergency, vehicles need to be moved and students and faculty/staff must listen to the snow line instructions in order to know when plowing will be conducted in each parking lot.
