9/19/2017 - Ruane Friar Development Center

Column and wall footings forms are already in place and awaiting rebar.

Rebar for the deep foundations along the south wall of the Ruane Friar Development Center are being installed. Grade beam footings have already been formed and poured.

9/19/2017 - Moore Hall

Drywall for the Center for Inclusive Excellence is going up. Pictured is the student collaboration room with an alcove for high top computer stations.

The Calabria torch has been delivered and set in place.  Contractors are now working to place electrical lines for uplighting of the sculpture as well as placing the steel grid for the glass stone that will surround the torch.

​9/12/2017 - Science Complex

Pumper trucks pump concrete up to the second level of the addition as workers place the second level floor slab.

​The Hickey Hall addition steel has been erected. The second level will provide an observation deck for students and professors to set up telescopes.​

After a brief speaking program and blessing by President Brian Shanley, O.P., the final beam is raised on the Science Complex.

​​​Science Complex Topping off Ceremony​​ 8/22/2017

Members of the PC community are invited to the Providence College Science Complex construction site on Tuesday, Aug. 22 for the
traditional topping-off ceremony, during which construction personnel will place the topmost steel beam, marking an important milestone in this multi-year project. The event will take place on the walkway between the Ruane Center for the Humanities and the work site. Gates will open at 11 a.m., at which time community members are invited to sign their names to the beam. A blessing and short speaking program are scheduled for 11:30, after which the beam will be placed.

​​Looking eastward, the new walks down toward Glay Field, Bedford, and Davis now offer some great views of the downtown skyline and Friars softball field.

8/9/2017 - Moore Hall demolition of the three large classrooms ​​is complete.  Now workers begin the process of preparing the new space which will include office space, classroom space and multifunction rooms for the Center for Inclusive Excellence at Moore Hall.

​​Demo work on Moore Hall has begun.  Walls between the three lecture halls, and sloped concrete floors have been removed. On the right you can see where original windows were blocked in. ​
