Annual Advent Service of Lessons and Carols at Providence College


Providence, R.I. – Providence College’s signature annual Advent celebration, An Advent Service of Lessons and Carols, will be celebrated on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Dominic Chapel on campus. A reception will immediately follow in the Campus Ministry Center.

Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P., president, will preside at the service. Students, faculty, and staff will read scriptures from the Old and New Testaments. Featured choral responses will be sung by the College’s Liturgical Choir and Schola Cantorum, directed by Sherry Humes Dane, director of liturgical music and I Cantori, and the Concert Chorale directed by Dr. Todd J. Harper, assistant professor, department of music.
