RI Social Media Privacy Bill

Recently, the Rhode Island House and Senate passed the social media privacy bill which bans employers and schools from requiring students and employees to "disclose the password or any other means for accessing a personal social media account.'' It is now on its way to Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee's desk for his signature, to become law.
Brian Lamoureux, Esq. is an adjunct assistant professor of management at Providence College. He teaches a course, "Digital and Social Media in the Business Environment,” that gives students an opportunity to examine the widespread use and implications of digital and social media in the contemporary business world.
