Supervisor reminder:

Providence College occasionally has openings for Graduate Assistantships. These positions are limited to graduate students who have been officially accepted into a degree program and are enrolled on a full-time basis.

Graduate assistants are required to work 20 hours a week and must be enrolled in nine credit hours for the fall and spring semesters. If your position is for 12 months you are required to enroll in three credit hours in one of the summer sessions.  If your GA position is for 9 or 10 months you are not required to enroll in any classes in either summer session.  If you chose to enroll in any classes or credit hours beyond what is required, your GA tuition remission package will not cover the cost of those classes.

Graduate assistants receive a monthly stipend of $700 during their first year of employment and $750 during their second year. Assistants also receive tuition remission for the academic year and the summer session, if required.

Appointments to assistantships are for one year with the possibility for renewal. Positions may be available in a variety of departments and duties may include the following: writing news stories for college publications, assisting faculty with research projects, conducting library research, and helping to coordinate commencement activities.
