The Academic Convocation signifying the start of the 2014-2015 academic year was held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014.  The Fall faculty Recognition Dinner celebrated the tenure, promotion, and retirees' years of service to the College later that evening.  We are pleased to recognize the honorees from the School of Arts & Sciences​​.

Four Providence College faculty members were selected to receive the School of Arts & Sciences’ Summer Scholar Award​.  Now in its third year, the program supports faculty research, promotes summer scholarship, and furthers engaged learning for professors.

Summer of Research in Woods Hole​
Associate Professor of Biology, Dr. Joseph A. DeGiorgis, and four Biology students spent the summer researching​ amyloid precursor protein, in squid, and its relation to Alzheimer's Disease at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Mass.

As part of the College & University Research Collaborative, Dr. Deborah J. Johnson, Professor of Art History and Women's Studies,  worked with a team of researchers to recommend ways to enhance the arts as well as highlight their economic impact​ in
the state of Rhode Island.
