Supported Facilities

Classrooms:

Many of our classrooms have been upgraded to include Crestron touch control panels, simplifying access to and control of presentation hardware located in the rack and consoles. These rooms provide media access to various audio and video sources as well as both rack mounted PC's and laptop computers. Network access is available for both computers. Imaging is accomplished via ceiling-hung high lumen output data projectors.

Other classrooms and seminar rooms have a lesser amount of presentation hardware, but generally include a rack computer, laptop computer connectivity, VHS / VCR and DVD players, as well as a ceiling-hung high lumen output data projector.

Fifteen of our classrooms include either a SmartBoard annotation board, or a PolyVision ENO annotation board.

Academic Media also supports facilities located in Slavin Center's '64 Hall, Smith Center Concert Hall, Black Box Theatre, Rehearsal room, and other non-classroom facilities located across the campus.

Additional Support Services:

Academic Media Services maintains a viewing room, Feinstein 309, as a place students and faculty can view and preview assigned VHS and DVD programs. Additionally, students and faculty can search for any of the College owned video programs, also located in our facilities. The collection can be searched via the Internet at http://131.128.70.2/search and under Library Collections choose Collection Type/Format and choose Films/Video/DVD's from the selections.

Academic Media also maintains several Macintosh digital editing computers for the editing of audio and video student projects. We support iMovie, Final Cut Studio, MS Office, and other audio and video creation software.

Academic Media loans miniDV camcorders, digital audio recorders, tripods, microphones and audio and video cables in support of student media production.

Academic Media maintains PC laptops for faculty use, whether for a single class use, or for long term (semester) loan. Additionally, we have several small venue data projectors, also for faculty loan.

Staff can be scheduled to video record classes, lectures and other College events, we set-up and monitor P.A. sound systems for faculty and student events, we provide training on a one-on-one basis for faculty, staff and students and are available for classroom problem solving during office hours.
